So lately, I’ve been feeling really distant from the kpop world. I don’t know what it is. Actually, I lied. I might know what it is that’s keeping me from loving it but I’m not 100% sure. I’ve come to hate it more than I love it for various reasons. Kpop was something I’ve been dedicated to for a good 7/8 years. I don’t know if I should walk away from it or stay. How about you guys tell me what I should do. One reason why I started this blog was because I enjoyed kpop so much that I wanted to share my interests with the rest of you guys but the real reason why I changed the format of this blog was because I just wasn’t interested anymore. I wasn’t interested in doing any of this anymore but yet I still continue to sit here and blog about kpop.
I don’t know exactly what the problems but it might be the immature fans of kpop. Everyone is all about the idol groups nowadays. What happened to the time when music was celebrated for the really good artists that are now all the underdogs and the not-so-popular artists. What happened to the days when award shows were not rigged and went to the deserving artists? What’s so appealing about idol groups? They’re not even about the talent anymore, it’s all about the looks. I can easily name a few people that look a like from totally different groups. I know, you’re gonna say, “not all idols are like this! Not all idols are untalened and ugly!”. Yeah, I know that. There are also a handful of them who can sing and have the looks but I’m sure if we were to name them, you and I would have different answers because of our different perspectives and opinions on these people. So quit going ga ga over idols for no reason.
Immature fans have turned me against kpop and follow me everywhere I go. Crazy teeny boppers. I was once an immature fan but never as bad as the ones now. Nowadays, the immature fans are everywhere and it only makes them look bad like Bieber fans. Like STFU and GTFO! When I first joined twitter about 2 years ago, I could easily get information about something big going on in the world. But now, it seems anything media related has been brought into twitter and the most important things, such as disasters, mass death, etc. in the world are no longer important. Because Bieber trending topics have been banned, I wish anything kpop related trending topics can be banned too. Only kpop fans care that their favorite idol is at the top of trending topics after a good hour of spamming. Making themselves feel special must feel really good, epseically when the artist doesn’t even know they’ve been a trending topic.
Another reason why I’m turning away from kpop is Jay. Everywhere I go, there’s “jay this, jay that”. I DON’T EFF-ING CARE!! So quit spamming up my feeds with his name. Yeah sure, when he first left 2PM, I cared about him. But over time, I’ve hated him. I’m hating to the point where I wish anything related with the letter “J” could just disappear. To be honest, he’s a total cocky ass dude now. Quit playing the innocent guy in the whole JYP thing. Only immature fans are supporting Jay’s side because everyone started hating on JYP. There was a reason why he got kicked out. JYP did say that if it was in the US, he would’ve been sued a big amount of money. Accept the damn fact. But it’s not like I agree with JYP either. They were BOTH wrong. He most likely wanted to sign to another company. No big deal, so get over it! What was his reason for making a comeback to YT and Korea for fast?! He obviously had a motive to get back at JYP.
I’m sure all of you know about ISA. Well, I’ve always followed ISA, Wongfu, FM and all those other ISA artists. I don’t know why Jay was invited to be part of it. He was unnecessary. ISA would’ve been just as successful without Jay. It only brought more immature fans annoying all these artists with “do collab with jay!” or “shoutout to jay!” LIKE NO!! It’s EEF-ING annoying!! Same with him working with Dumb and Dok2. They were 2 artists that I really liked and Jay has NOTHING on these two artists. His raps are amateur raps. He is FAR from good at rapping so quit saying his lyrics are “deep” when in fact, they’re lame. He should just stick with pop. Now he’s working with wongfu, ryan, etc. and to me, it just seems like they’re trying to ride Jay’s wave to pull in more kpop fans. It seems like a low thing to do. But what do I know. Sure, they can all be good friends and what not. But I don’t care! He’s ruining all my interests. I don’t wanna see his EFF-ING face!!
Sadly, it’s taken 3 reasons to cause me to turn away from something I’ve been so dedicated to. Kpop was a big part of my life and I want it to continue. Yeah, sure it’s a phase that anyone can enter and exit from. But kpop shaped who I am right now. It brought me ups and downs. It brought me tears of sadness and tears of joy. It brought me smiles and frowns. To give up now, is like changing myself. Maybe change isn’t so bad after all. I’ve pretty much stopped listening to kpop except for a few artists. Other than that, I’ve gone back to listening to my typical gangster hip hop and r&b music. What would you do if you were me??
