So….the annual Korean Music Festival in LA is just around the corner again!!!
Sadly…all the info I have right now is:
Once again, it’s in May on a Saturday. Specifically, May 1st @ 6:30 PM at the usual location, Hollywood Bowl in California. Please google map it if you need to ^^
One thing I don’t like about it is they try to rip money off ticket buyers because…
1) tickets are expensive…ranges from ~$15-$200 USD (if i remember). It all depends on where you sit in the crowd.
2) they announce the attending artists every week (or is it every 2 weeks?! don’t remember >.<) starting from maybe February. As a result…it’s hard to refund tickets when you don’t like the attending artists.
But…the concert is quite worth it because it can be such a party, even when you’re with random people you don’t know.
A few things I DO like about the concert is…
1) you can stalk your favorite idols while they’re in town =) or even stay at the same hotel!
2) it is a dream come true…it feels like a dream being there! because that’s the closest you’ll ever get to them.
3) they ALWAYS have some of Korea’s most popular artists!!
4) it’s fun for all ages. It’s a family event since they’ve got some old school trot singers (like Eru’s dad, Tae Jin Ah!)

JYPE had a conference today regarding Jay and it has come to a final conclusion: THERE IS NO CHANCE OF JAY RETURNING.
I’ve been trying to write more about this post..but I would get to a certain point and delete everything because right now, I’m confused and don’t know what to believe and tell you guys. The only thing I can tell you is that the whole thing has turned into a war and everything is just in depression mode.
From the conference, the members have spoke out their feelings and it was not for his return and in fact, it was as if they don’t ever what to see him again because they hate him that much. I don’t know what to believe and what not to believe. Was their friendship and brotherhood never that strong that they could not forgive him for his mistakes?! Must they pull him straight down into the ground over one night?! Everything they said, they said they were doing this to protect Jay and his “personal mistake” from being revealed. But is that really protect Jay? To make him look like the bad guy? It totally seems like something straight from a drama.If what the other members what said at the conference are truly from the bottom of their hearts, I have lost respect for them and they disgust me to my stomach. But if the conference was truly scripted, I will forgive these boys. I am most impressed by Khun but disappointed by Taec and Chansung. It seems like they all hate Jay….the whole thing smells fishy. But they f***ing used Jay’s name on the 1:59 album to promote it! They don’t f***ing deserve a penny of the profits for it…disgusting human beings…
But isn’t life also about learning to love and forgive? It hurts to know how cruel some human beings can be. I don’t care how bad of a mistake Jay has made, I can forgive him because I will not hold a grudge for life.
It has been almost 7 years since I’ve gotten into kpop and this has got to be one of the most heart-breaking things to hear and witness. But why am I not feeling used to this? From TVXQ to SuJu to 2PM, to slave contracts to abuse rumors to disbandment rumors to leaving/addition of members and more more…
THE ONLY MISTAKE JAY HAS DONE IN HIS LIFE IS SIGNING WITH JYP.
Right now, I really want to give Jay a hug and tell him that there are many fans out there supporting him.
I will continue to support the remaining 6 members because I learn to forgive! But, there will be some constraint on me supporting them.
It has always been Jay protecting the members but when Jay is in need, they can’t f***ing protect him. Sick.
Reports are saying that JYP officially announced online that Jaebum has left 2PM. But…when i google jyp’s website, it’s telling me that it may cause harm to my computer. safer to keep my computer virus-free! could be possible that jyp’s website has been hacked and the message was left by the hacker(s).
Aside from the Myspace controversty, rumor has it that Jay did an offense worst than the Myspace controversy during the Again & Again days and because of that, Jay’s contract has been terminated. Rumor also has it that the other 2PM members flipped out and agreed that Jay should no longer be an entertainer or part of the group. Yup, harsh!
You could say I’m in denial about his departure, but I don’t believe any of this. Why would JYP protect Jay all this time and give fans hope for his comeback and then kill it all off overnight?! But I have a feeling that internally, something is happening with JYPE and that JYP himself can’t control it. It’s been chaos in JYP since Jay and Sunmi left!
I’m not gonna write an essay on this…because I know that I’ll get really biased on my opinions and off topic if i write more.
But whatever floats Jay’s boat! It’s his life, his happiness!

So…here’s the point of this thread…
What I’m looking forward to:
1. Tasha – T’s new album is dropping very soon. And…JK is working on this album for her. For those who don’t know, Tasha is the Queen of Soul in Korea. She is quite well known among fans but I guess for the mainstream kpop followers…she’s not that well know. But, she is VERY well known in Korea.
2. One Day – 2PM is coming out with a new album. This time, I’m really hoping Jaebum will be back!! Why you ask?! It’s because they just released their 1:59PM album not too long ago and I found it strange that they’re already releasing another one. When?! APRIL!! The month of my birthday and Jaebum’s birthday! His birthday is 4 days after mine <3 2AM is also coming out with some new stuff too!! I want a One Day collab!
3. YG Year – 2010 is YG’s year. With comebacks and solo debuts of their artists…I’m sure YG will dominate! SE7EN is FINALLY making a comeback after about 3 years. It sucks that his US debut failed miserably…but I still think he has the most potential to make it big out of all the Korean artists crossing over. Blame YG for signing with a crappy company. But, rumor has it he’s in the talks with a BIG label. *hoping for Interscope* Big Bang’s Daesung, Taeyang and TOP will be dropping some new stuff as well!! 2NE1 is supposed to release something too. BUT, beware, take YG with a grain of salt!
4. SuJu Comeback Even with all the SM chaos, SuJu said they’re coming back with a new album. I’d take that with a grain of salt too. Without the 13, it’s not a very good album. I went back to listen to their 1st album, without Kyuhyun in it, and I realized it’s my favorite, after the Sorry, Sorry album. Don’t Don was kinda crappy…only liked a few songs on it.
5. Hyori Comeback – Hyori is making a comeback!! Yay!! Who here thinks that Hyori still looks gorgeous and sexy though she’s hitting that 30 mark?!
6. Gina Choi – anyone heard of her? She was a JYP trainee since WAY back but now she’s with sister company, Cube, and is supposed to debut this summer!
What I’m hoping for:
1. Jaebum’s return! I have never given up and I never will. My intuition tells me that he is coming back. It always had..it’s a weird feeling I tell ya!
2. CSJH The Grace – After being kicked all the way to Japan just so SNSD could debut, it’s about time these girls make a comeback. They are one of the only girl group that can actually sing, dance and pull off the sexiness all in one performance. They need to get out of SM ASAP.
3. SM downfall – After being a kpop fan for about 6 years, I’ve seen and read a lot on the behind the scenes of kpop, especially related to SM artists. It’s not as simple as we see it. It’s shady business! From “financial” problems, to abuse, to lawsuits, I’ve seen and heard it all. The truth behind SM is very simple. Just think of the reasons why H.O.T. and Shinhwa (2 legend groups of kpop!) left SM. There’s a reason why FTTS left the company too. H.O.T problem = TVXQ’s problem. Same friggen’ thing! History repeats just like how fashion repeats! Zhang Li Yin gets ditched in China, when she barely made a fanbase in Korea!
What I’m not looking forward to:
1. Girlgroup Domination - Will girl groups still be able to dominate the charts this year? We’ll see about that ^^ Groups such as KARA, SNSD and f(x) are all preparing for a new album. Honestly, a bunch of girls dressing not their age is disgusting to me. They make themselves look so fake…oh wait, they are! I just want to see some REAL singers that can sing, dance and act their age. I don’t need 20 year olds dancing in mini skirts with lollipops or a bunch of girls dressing up like they’re cats of animals. It’s not Halloween!! But yes, it’s hilarious when I see boy bands do it…but I do wonder if they ever hurt their man pride doing it…
2. Debut’s of “idol groups” - I’m sick of hearing all these boy and girl groups debuting…there’s just too many of them debuting and I can’t keep up…but it’s not like I want to anyways. 2009 was full of them and it’d be great if it stayed only in that year. What happens in 2009 stays in 2009. I don’t have the time. AND, they keep getting younger and younger and younger! Back when I first listened to kpop, I swear there were no artists that was under the age of 15/16. Now a days, everyone keeps getting younger with less talent. AND they’re not even in there for their pretty looks anymore because every is fake plastic! Everyone just wants to be part of kpop history. Sometimes, I think that kpop is ruining society and I know for a fact, it always had and will continue to in Korea. For example, what school in your town will let school out early just for a concert?!
yeah…i know that was a lame title…hahaha! But it’s almost 1AM and my head hurts. I’ve been shoving my face into notes and textbooks for the past week…and spent more time at the library then at home…school sucks! One more final and I am done! After Tuesday, everything will be back to normal on this blog ^^

Wonder Girls on So You Think You Can Dance
Yup, the Wonder Girls were on it! And if you missed it…here’s a video of the performance!
I thought the performance was missing something…a spark, maybe?! I thought it could have been better. Some of it sounded like it was lip-synced…a bit disappointed in that. I love the girls and everything…but I feel this US debut of theirs kinda threw me off…seems like America’s not quite ready for them and the last thing I want is them being viewed as the the “Nobody” girls, “the girls from Jo Bro’s concerts” or even a Disney affiliation, since they were kinda managed by Papa Jo during the concert tour.

BaekGa was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor. At first, he thought it was the after effects of an accident but when he went to go get his head checked, it was a brain tumor T___T Kim Jong Min is still in the military.

Bloody Note#2
MBLAQ member, Lee Joon, received a bloody note from a crazy fan, who apparently slit her wrists, before using it to write the note. The note said “Lee Chang Sun (his real name), don’t forget me. You are my everything to me. I love you. Remember that. XX.” This is the second a fan has sent in creepy like that, with the first being unlucky Taecyeon of 2PM. For those unaware, Taec’s note consisted of period blood and scatter pubes. Gross, eh?! Fans these days get crazier and crazier. And I wonder who should be blamed for this?! The big music chaebol’s of Korea or what?!

i’m still trying to find the whole nomination list…some of the awards disappeared after the show…like OST…i don’t know who won that…and some appeared…like best asian star, asian composer, asian recommends, hall of fame.
before you guys rant about deserving/not deserving awards…please keep in mind that not all nominated artists did not attend…therefore they did not get the award they deserve. in my opinion, there were a few artists that deserved their awards more than others. but boo hoo…that’s mnet and rigged awards for us! but this year, it was not as biased as last year. not as much drama either =)
i wished Jay could’ve been there with 2PM to accept their awards!
and yes..SM did boycott the awards so none of their artists showed up, EXCEPT for three of TVXQ (Jaejoong, Yoochun & Junsu). They accepted an award on BEHALF of the group. It was just sad T___T. you can find a subbed video of them receiving their award and giving out a speech on youtube. i don’t have time to find it at the moment…sorry >.<
